Mango pickle
Ingredients
Mangoes-2 green ( not ripened)
Salt
Mustard
Hing (asafoetida)-a pinch
Chilli powder
Methi powder (Fenugreek powder)
Procedure
- Cut mangoes in to small pieces.
- Marinate in 2 spoons of salt.
- Keep it for a day.
- Once pieces of mangoes softened, take it out and squeeze pieces and keep aside in a separate bowl.
- Boil the salted water and slowly when it thickens add powdered mustard in to it.
- Then add 2 spoons of chilli powder in to cut mango pieces.
- At last in a spoon of oil heat and add half a spoon of mustard seeds.
a. Let the mustard splutter.
b. Add pinch of hing (asfoetida).
c. Add pinch of methi(fenugreek) powder.
8. Mix everything and store it in a bottle and refrigerate it.
This will be good for 1-2 months.
